Former LACDR Medical Pharmacology student Jona Mijalkovic was awarded the Student Prize at the recent KNMP Congress at the beginning of October. The prize is awarded annually by the Royal Dutch Association for the Advancement of Pharmacy to one student from each university offering pharmacy and bio-pharmaceutical sciences programs (Leiden, Utrecht and Groningen) on the basis of their research, thesis and overall study results.

Jona spent nine months with our department as an intern, under the supervision of our former PhD student Angela Sarabdjitsingh. Her contributions were published as part of the article Disrupted Corticosterone Pulsatile Patterns Attenuate Responsiveness to Glucocorticoid Signaling in Rat Brain, that appeared in Endocrinology 2010 Mar;151(3):1177-86.

The KNMP is the umbrella organisation for professional pharmacists and the pharmacy in general. It promotes both the interests of its members and the interests of the pharmaceutical sector.
